Better Living Building Supply , Charlottesville and Troy, Virginia's premier lumber yard, in business since 1893, is seeking to hire motivated individuals to serve their customers. We are currently seeking a dependable and efficient CDL Class A Moffet Truck Driver who will deliver and unload building materials (drywall, lumber, etc.) to various local work sites on a daily basis (Monday-Friday), one of the best parts, you're home every night!!!

In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of building materials to our valued customers. With your expertise behind the wheel and utilizing the moffet, you will play an integral part in ensuring our products reach their destinations on time, contributing to the success of our construction projects and the satisfaction of our community.

Pay:

• Hourly rate will be based on experience and qualifications

Job Details:

• Deliver building materials in a safe and timely manner
• Load and unload building materials at multiple job sites locally
• Confirm inventory load on truck prior to delivery. Confirm the address on the delivery ticket
• Ensure load is properly and safely tied down. Perform a pre-trip inspection
• Ensure smooth, on-time delivery of products and building material and place material where customers direct
• Ability to use truck mounted boom lift for deliveries

Work Schedule:

• 40 + hours a week / Day Shift
• 7:00 am-4:30 pm Monday through Friday. (Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate)
• Home Daily

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the following to obtain insurability :

1. Must have maintained no less than a Class B CDL for a Minimum of 3 years
2. Clean driving record with no serious violations (minimum 3 years + standard)
3. DOT medical card must be current

• Moffet Experience preferred , will train the right candidate!
• Experience operating a boom truck preferred
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety standards
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and random drug/alcohol tests
• Physically capable of handling and operating heavy equipment, including lifting up to 50 lbs
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to navigate to various job sites within the designated service area
• Knowledge of load securing techniques
• Willingness to work light overtime to ensure completion of daily deliveries
• Basic maintenance knowledge to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Ability to read and understand maps, GPS, or other routing technology
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Commitment to adhering to company policies and procedures regarding safety and compliance
