Job Description
One of the most respected and diversified helicopter service providers in California is looking for a Chief Aviation Inspector to join their high-performing organization. Does supporting a variety of missions across VIP charter, air medical, news, film, and public safety operations excite you? In this role, you’ll use your leadership and technical expertise to ensure aircraft inspections meet FAA standards and contribute to a best-in-class safety culture.
The Key Responsibilities of the Chief Aviation Inspector will be:
- Ensure all required inspections are properly completed and documented before aircraft are returned to service
- Coordinate with FAA Certificate Holding District Office and other relevant FAA representatives on Quality Assurance issues
- Oversee correct tagging, tracking, and identification of all parts and components
- Ensure continuity in inspection responsibilities across personnel changes
- Evaluate and implement updates to inspection, maintenance, and avionics policies and procedures
- Ensure all contractors performing aircraft/appliance work comply with FAA regulations and company procedures
- Approve incoming raw materials and parts, including work performed by outside vendors
- Ensure proper execution of FAA Form 337 and/or maintenance releases when required
- Submit reports of failures, malfunctions, or defects as required by 14 CFR Part 145.221
The Ideal Chief Aviation Inspector will have the below skills and experience:
- A&P Certified Mechanic with Inspection Authorization (IA)
- Previous experience working for an FAA Part 145 Rotorcraft Repair Station
- Proven experience working with FAA offices regarding Quality Assurance topics
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other relevant systems
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and time-efficient
- Collaborative and team-focused mindset
Benefits:
Compensation: $125,000 - $140,000 , excellent additional benefits + sign-on bonus
Flexible Schedule: 4/10, 7-on/7-off, or 14-on/14-off
