Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Chief Engineer to join our team at The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center. As Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of the hotel, including its facilities, equipment, and grounds. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned engineer to join our team and contribute to the success of our hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise the engineering team, including hiring, training, and performance management
• Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure the hotel's facilities and equipment are running efficiently and effectively
• Conduct regular inspections of the hotel's facilities and equipment to identify and address any maintenance or repair needs
• Develop and manage the engineering budget, including purchasing and inventory management
• Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements, including OSHA and local building codes
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless service delivery and address any maintenance-related issues
• Respond to guest complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner
• Develop and implement energy conservation programs to reduce the hotel's environmental impact

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry
• Proven experience in managing and supervising a team
• Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and maintenance procedures
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity with energy management systems and sustainable practices
