In this influential role, you'll guide the strategic direction of Qt's core products, including the Qt framework, Qt Creator, and other tools like Squish and Test Center ( 

 
As Chief Technology Officer, you'll inspire and mentor engineering teams, foster a culture of innovation, and collaborate closely with other executives. This is a key role in shaping the company's technological direction and ensuring technology initiatives align with business objectives.

The location for this role can be Boston, Dallas, Bengaluru, Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, Berlin, Paris or our HQ in Espoo.

You Will  

• Develop and implement a technology vision that aligns with Qt Group's business goals and market needs. 

• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, ensuring Qt's offerings remain at the forefront of innovation. 

• Lead and mentor the engineering and development teams, ensuring high standards of technical excellence by promoting best practices in software development, quality assurance, and project management. 

• Work closely with other executives, including the CEO and CFO, to align technology initiatives with business objectives. 

• Communicate the technology strategy to stakeholders, including employees, investors, and customers. 

• Optimize the technology infrastructure, architecture and processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and security. 

• Assess and implement scalable architectural designs that align with current and future business needs. 

• Continuously evaluate the organization's technology landscape to design adaptable solutions for evolving operational demands. 

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as GDPR and CCPA, to safeguard sensitive information from breaches 

• Oversee the technology budget and resource allocation, strategic planning as well as communication and stakeholder engagement.

• Actively engage as a public speaker to champion Qt's vision at industry events, conferences, media engagements, and during key customer discussions with technology leaders.
• Report to the CEO and collaborate with senior leadership to drive technological initiatives, while not being a member of the core executive management team.

About You  

• Demonstrated ability to anticipate and leverage technological trends, successfully identifying opportunities and risks to drive business value, with a keen interest in staying at the forefront of industry advancements. 

• Extensive experience in leading and inspiring technical teams, fostering collaboration, and guiding projects to successful completion. 

• Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal abilities, adept at conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

• In-depth expertise in software development, particularly in C++, cross-platform development, and UI/UX design, with a strong alignment to Qt's product ecosystem. 

• Well-versed in quality assurance practices and testing tools, with hands-on experience in maintaining high software standards. 

• Experienced in aligning technology strategy with broader business goals, ensuring that technical initiatives drive meaningful outcomes. 

• Background in effectively managing budgets and resources, optimizing costs while delivering strategic objectives.

• Customer-oriented mindset with a strong focus on understanding and meeting client needs, ensuring solutions align with end-user expectations. 

• Proven ability to build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, promoting collaboration and alignment across departments and teams.
