Commercial Finance Paralegal - U.S. and International Loans
WorldBusiness Capital, Inc. (WBC) is seeking an accomplished, dynamic, team-oriented Commercial Finance Paralegal who is looking to expand their career at an international commercial lending institution. The position encompasses a broad range of responsibilities related to the administration and servicing of domestic and international commercial loans, including review of pre-and-post-closing documentation, communication and coordination with borrowers, and reporting to loan participants and government guaranty agencies.
The Commercial Finance Paralegal will be a strategic addition to the WBC team and work in close collaboration with WBC’s lenders, portfolio managers, borrowers, external counsel, loan participants, and counterparts at government guaranty agencies. Candidates must have an entrepreneurial “can-do” attitude and desire to take ownership of their work.
A Paralegal Certificate or Diploma from a recognized institution is required. Knowledge of Spanish is a plus in WBC’s consideration of candidates.

We are an active originator, servicer, and seller of commercial loans under various government guaranty programs including USDA Business & Industry, U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), and Mexico’s Bancomext. WBC is licensed and regulated by the Connecticut Department of Banking.
WBC is based in Hartford, Connecticut and offers a hybrid in-office/remote work environment. The position reports to WBC’s Chief Financial Officer.

Core Responsibilities
Management of Loan Closings and Documentation:
Gather and organize pre-closing loan documentation received from new borrowers, external counsel, and other parties.
Review and verify loan documentation to ensure compliance with approved loan requirements, financing documents, policies and procedures, participant requirements, and guaranty program parameters.
Manage schedule for loan closings and completion of tasks necessary for timely and effective initial and subsequent loan disbursements, funding, and participations.
Complete documentation required for sale of loan participations to institutional buyers.
Work proactively and constructively with all involved parties to resolve issues that arise during the loan closing process.
Compile post-closing loan documentation packages accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain complete and accurate loan and collateral/security files over the life of each loan.
Monitor insurance coverages, UCC filings, and other collateral/security filing requirements.
Loan Reporting:
Coordinate with Loan Accounting to confirm accurate loan set-up, invoice generation, and maintenance on the Loan/Participant Accounting System at inception of the loan and following any loan modifications and sales.
Complete periodic reporting to government guaranty agencies and other constituents.
Qualifications
7 - 10 years of experience as a Commercial Finance Paralegal supporting commercial loan closings and ongoing servicing. Paralegal Certificate or Diploma from a recognized institution.
Demonstrates strong online system management skills, proficient in WORD and EXCEL.
Ability to read and interpret commercial loan documents, participation and loan guaranty program documents.
Excellent verbal and written professional communication skills, including the ability to effectively manage and respond to inquiries from WBC lenders and portfolio managers, borrowers, loan participants, and government agencies.
Possesses good judgment, professional image, and the ability to accept responsibility and handle confidential information.
Demonstrates strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
Demonstrates organization and project management skills to work cooperatively with multiple stakeholders on variable project deadlines.
Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
