Job Description

Title: Community Engagement Coordinator
Location: Compton, CA
Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 9AM - 6PM
Salary: $55,000-$65,000 (DOE)
Reports to: Manager, Community Engagement
Job Type: Full-Time, On-site


Organization Snapshot:

  • Nonprofit focused on affordable housing and community revitalization.
  • Builds stronger neighborhoods and supports low to moderate income families throughout LA County.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute community-based events, workshops, and trainings.
  • Conduct needs assessments and community research.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Community Affairs, Marketing, and Development teams.
  • Manage event logistics, outreach plans, and post-event impact.
  • Monitor budgets and staffing (counselors, volunteers).
  • Participate in special projects and assist other departments as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's in Political Science, Public Policy, Communications or related field (preferred)
  • Experience: 2+ years in a nonprofit environment (preferred)
  • Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
  • Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Traits: Passion for community development and ability to work respectfully with diverse groups.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Valid CA Driver's License
  • Willingness to work evenings/weekends
  • Consent to background check (credit, criminal, driving, employment, education)
