Per diem is being offered for those that live outside of a 50 mile radius.
This role is crucial for the successful execution of the civil aspects of the wind repower project, requiring strong oversight, coordination, and attention to environmental and community considerations.
The civil role is responsible for:
- Contractor Oversight: Civil Scope Management: Oversee contractors performing civil tasks such as constructing access roads, crane pads, and turnarounds.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with road use agreements and other civil-related regulations.
- Internal Coordination: Citing and Land Rights: Work with internal resources from citing and land rights to ensure all activities are properly authorized and documented.
- Environmental Considerations: Collaborate with environmental teams to ensure that the project does not cause undue harm to infrastructure, fields, or neighboring properties.
- Respect and Dignity: Community Relations: Ensure that all interactions with neighbors and stakeholders are conducted with respect and dignity, maintaining positive community relations.
- Infrastructure Protection: Minimize Impact: Ensure that civil work does not cause undue harm to existing infrastructure or the environment.
Responsibilities:
- Morning Planning and Coordination: Daily Planning: Start the day with a planning session to outline the day's objectives and tasks.
- Meetings with Contractors: Hold meetings with contractors to discuss the plan of the day, address any concerns, and ensure everyone is aligned on the day's activities.
- Site Inspections and Oversight: Access Roads and Crane Pads: Conduct site inspections to oversee the construction of access roads, crane pads, and turnarounds. Ensure that all work is being performed according to the project specifications and compliance requirements.
- Compliance Checks: Verify compliance with road use agreements and other civil-related regulations.
- Internal Coordination: Citing and Land Rights: Work with internal resources from citing and land rights to ensure all activities are properly authorized and documented.
- Environmental Considerations: Collaborate with environmental teams to ensure that the project does not cause undue harm to infrastructure, fields, or neighboring properties.
- Community Relations: Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with neighbors and stakeholders to address any concerns and ensure that all interactions are conducted with respect and dignity.
- Problem-Solving and Adjustments: Address Issues: Throughout the day, address any issues that arise, such as delays in construction or compliance challenges. Quickly find solutions to keep the project on track.
- Adjust Plans: Make any necessary adjustments to the civil work plan based on real-time developments and feedback from the field.
- End-of-Day Review: Progress Review: Review the day's progress, ensuring all tasks were completed as planned. Document any important observations or issues.
- Next Day Planning: Begin planning for the next day, ensuring that all necessary resources and information are in place for continued smooth operations.
Requirements:
- 3-7 years of experience as it pertains to the civil aspects of renewable projects, specifically wind.
- Computer Literacy: Software Proficiency: Ability to use various computer applications and software for tracking, documentation, and communication. This includes proficiency in project management tools, spreadsheets, and logistics software.
- Road Use Agreements: Familiarity with road use agreements and compliance with civil-related regulations.
- Crane Setup and Takedown: Crane Logistics: Experience with crane setups and takedowns, ensuring that the civil works support the stability and safety of the cranes. Understanding the logistics to get cranes and other large equipment to the site is crucial.
- Valid Driver’s License and Transportation: Dependable Transportation: A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from the site are required to ensure timely and consistent presence on-site.
- Project Management Skills: Coordination and Oversight: Ability to oversee contractors, manage daily planning and meetings, and conduct site inspections to ensure quality and compliance.
