Job Description

Professional Consultant - Data Professionals

Are you looking for an opportunity to get out of the traditional 9-5 and fill that intrapreneurial drive within a stable organization? If so, you should consider joining Vaco's top-tier consulting division!

We are looking for individuals to join our team of professional consultants who specialize in providing technical solutions across clients in multiple industries throughout the Triangle area. Being a Professional Consultant offers varied challenges and dynamic career growth through the opportunity to support an array of influential companies in our network/client base - all while having the stability of a full-time salaried position with benefits.

We want to partner with someone tired of the traditional ladder climbing career trajectory and stagnant compensation path, someone who wants to be able to make an impact with multiple organizations and broaden their technical chops by being exposed to challenges facing both startups and large enterprises. We are all about working as one cohesive team, so if you are driven by achieving meaningful results as an individual as well as an organization, then this could be just what you are looking for, and we would love for you to apply!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Consulting various clients: This could be one client at a time, and it could be multiple clients at a time, depending on the need. The day to day of what and who is being supported can vary in this role.
  • Client-facing: Responsible for supporting clients and ensuring that expected responsibilities are being accomplished on time and with a high degree of quality.
  • Consultative Guidance: Provide expert guidance to clients on optimizing their systems and offering recommendations for improvements and enhancements.
  • Technical Data Projects: Analyze and troubleshoot technical data issues and needs for clients by identifying their needs and implementing effective solutions.
  • Project Management: Effectively communicate project or work milestones, status updates, and potential risks to clients and internal stakeholders. Generate regular status reports on client data projects, highlighting key metrics, trends, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
  • 1 or more years of prior experience as a Data Analyst / Data Scientist / Data Consultant / Data Engineer - MUST HAVE experience with multiple types of data related tools/technologies such as SQL, Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, R, Python, etc.
  • Experience with end-to-end Data needs, ranging from pulling and manipulating raw data sets to visualization of data through data visualization tools.
  • Intrapreneurial mindset with a desire to be a part of something different and contribute ideas to our team as we grow our consulting function.
  • Ability to work across industries and markets to serve each individual client's needs.
  • Passion for consulting and an ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment that is constantly changing.
  • Team oriented and results oriented, with a commitment to client satisfaction.
  • Strong planning, communication, and organizational skills to consistently meet deliverable deadlines.
  • Desire to have a stable, full-time, salaried consultant position that offers performance-based bonus incentives.
You may be thinking, "Those Requirements sounds a little broad" and that is by design. We want passionate Data Professionals who truly want to be a part of the Vaco team long term, so we are open to different types of technical skillsets.

**Though this position's day-to-day can be remote, we ideally want to find candidates in the Raleigh/surrounding areas who are able to come into the office if necessary. The ideal individual will be a part of the Vaco Raleigh team, so we want the opportunity to see you from time to time!

BENEFITS TO BEING A PROFESSIONAL CONSULTANT WITH VACO:
  • Performance-based pay and quarterly bonus opportunities.
  • Access to medical, dental and vision benefits, 401K employer match.
  • Technology, including a new computer, an initial technical equipment setup allowance on start date, and monthly cell phone allowance.
  • Annual $500 budget for professional development of your choice.
  • Reimbursement for professional licenses, certifications, and associations.
  • Career progression opportunities.

At Vaco, your career goals guide our efforts. We see you, we hear you, and we're here to help. That's why we not only work to find you a great opportunity, but we also provide you with the support and resources you need to succeed. We offer comprehensive and affordable benefits so you can focus your energy on more important matters like achieving your personal and professional goals.
