Job Description
Ecommerce Manager
Location: In House / Office - San Diego
Department: Ecommerce / Digital
Reports to: CRO / CEO
About Us:
We’re a high-growth ecommerce brand in the children's apparel space, known for delivering thoughtfully designed products and a premium customer experience. With a strong foundation and loyal customer base, we’re now focused on scaling smart — and we’re looking for an experienced Ecommerce head to help lead that charge.
About the Role:
As main implementer of ecommerce updates and site management, you’ll own the end-to-end digital customer journey — from site experience and conversion to platform performance and back-end integration. You’ll partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Creative, Product, and Ops to drive revenue, enhance user experience, and optimize our ecommerce stack (Shopify + NetSuite + ShipHawk + Celigo). This is both a strategic and hands-on role — ideal for someone who can zoom out to set vision, but also dive into data, UX testing, and platform management and works well within a small team setting focused on excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and optimize the Shopify Plus storefront, ensuring a seamless, high-converting experience across desktop and mobile. Current initiatives are focused on site personalization for users and conversion rate optimization.
- Collaborate with UX/design, dev partners, and marketing to launch site improvements, landing pages, and campaign activations. The current team is a shopify assistant who helps in all of the product loading and site maintenance as well as a 1099 dev doing monthly meetings and working on quarterly larger UX initiatives. It's a highly efficient 3 person team.
- Oversee ecommerce roadmap, including site functionality, A/B testing, personalization, and CRO initiatives. We currently work with Shoplift and PDQ for on site and in checkout testing to continually optimize the experience.
- Lead platform integrations and backend functionality in partnership with Ops — with a focus on syncing Shopify and NetSuite efficiently and ensuring accurate inventory is reflected.
- Monitor site analytics and KPIs; translate insights into actionable strategies including the returns portal and the overall order volume + returns strategy.
- Partner with Marketing to drive DTC growth through onsite promotions, merchandising, and performance insights
- Manage third-party tools and tech partners (Klaviyo, Reviews, Loyalty, App, etc.)
- Lead the update and functionality of the official App which is an extension of the site and a critical source of revenue for the most loyal customers
- Champion customer experience across the funnel, identifying friction points and opportunities to enhance LTV
- Stay on top of ecommerce trends, tools, and best practices
- Communicate daily with the CX team for feedback on bottlenecks, issues, or updates that need to be resolved on the site based on first party data
Who We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of ecommerce experience, ideally with DTC apparel or lifestyle brands
- Deep expertise with Shopify Plus, including apps, theme customization, and analytics
- Strong understanding of user experience and conversion rate optimization
- Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite / Celigo, and how they integrate with ecommerce platforms
- Strong analytical skills; comfortable digging into GA4, Shopify Reporting, 3rd Party MTA tools like Triple Whale
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage tech vendors
- Self-starter with a bias toward action and an eye for continuous improvement
- Leadership experience a plus; you’ll eventually grow a team
- Experience negotiating contracts with SAAS / 3rd party vendors
- A “move fast” mindset who wants to stay up to date on the continually changing landscape within Shopify and a continual curiosity to learn in the DTC space
Who is Ideal:
You love the DTC world. You are genuinely interested in learning and love the constantly changing environment with Shopify and all of their surrounding partners. You think about aesthetics, UX, and customer journey whenever you're on a website. You love working with a dynamic team, solving problems, and thinking about what's next. Ultimately, the right person with the approach to learn and grow with a sense of intuition always wins over just having experience in the space.
Why Join Us:
- Impact: You’ll play a critical role in shaping our next phase of growth
- Culture: Collaborative, creative, and results-driven, we move fast and value staying ahead
- Product: Beautiful, design-forward product with a loyal following
- Perks: Competitive salary, bonus potential, employee discount, health benefits, and more
- Purpose: The Rylee + Cru Foundation gives back to charities we care about with a portion of all of our profits because we feel like this is doing business with purpose
