Electrical Designer

Location: On-site – Knoxville, TN

Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Designer to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for industrial applications. In this role, you will work closely with project teams to create and optimize electrical designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development:

  • Perform calculations and create electrical designs based on customer and project specifications.
  • Develop detailed control principles, diagrams, and arrangement drawings for production and field work.
  • Test and verify designs for compliance, manufacturability, and standardization.

Construction & Production Support:

  • Prepare cost estimates and material lists based on project requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support for hardware issues.
  • Assist in the assembly of control panels and cabling installations.

Project Coordination & Management:

  • Work closely with project teams to ensure budgets, schedules, and design requirements are met.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation, including design records and component libraries.
  • Identify opportunities and risks associated with projects and propose solutions.

Technical Support & Compliance:

  • Advise on material selection, spare parts, and maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory safety and quality standards.
  • Communicate technical information with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Design, Industrial Automation, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in electrical design, product manufacturing, or a related field (preferably in the process industry).
  • Hands-on knowledge of electrical installations and control systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Eplan P8 and/or AutoCAD (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of blueprint/drawing interpretation and shop math.
