Job Description
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental and sustainability monitoring and reporting programs and systems (Title V/ Clean Air Act, NPDES / Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation & Recovery Act, Toxic Substances Control Act, Ohio Voluntary Action Program, etc.)
- Complete and submit accurate and timely permit applications, regulatory reports, and responses to agency information requests as required
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of ISO and related management systems, including standard operating procedures where applicable
- Serve as technical resource and support for steel making operations, air pollution control, water treatment, and related utilities operations and maintenance
- Collaborate with various departments to conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions
- Communicate with regulatory agencies as required
- Prepare and maintain required environmental contingency and emergency response plans
- Serve as plant emergency coordinator for incidents
- Coordinate and manage consultants and contractors as required
- Manage and improve product stewardship programs, including product life cycle analyses (LCAs) and environmental product declarations (EPDs)
- Assist with the development and implementation of company decarbonization and energy efficiency programs and strategies
- Other duties as assigned or required
Requirements :
- B.S. in engineering or related scientific field or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5-10 years’ environmental experience in U. S. heavy manufacturing industry (steel industry a plus) including managing Title V air permit programs
- Hands on experience with compliance and monitoring systems
- Project and personnel management skills
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Ability to be on call and respond to off-shift emergencies
