Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join a dynamic team at a cutting-edge chemical manufacturing facility in Belle, West Virginia. This unique plant is pivotal in producing raw materials for biodegradable plastics, serving diverse industries with a primary focus on oil and gas. This role offers an opportunity to lead and enhance the facility's Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive SHE policies, procedures, and programs.
• Oversee SHE program management, including auditing, monitoring, reporting, and record maintenance.
• Provide expert technical guidance and support to address SHE challenges across the organization.
• Coordinate and facilitate training sessions for employees and contractors on SHE topics.
• Conduct thorough SHE audits, inspections, and investigations, recommending corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Safety, Health, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in SHE roles within manufacturing or construction sectors; experience in chemical manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices, including but not limited to:
• Federal and state air, water, and waste regulations
• EPCRA regulations and reporting
• OSHA Standards, including Process Safety Management
• NFPA Standards
• TSCA reporting requirements
