Job Description

UAA Esports is looking to recruit a Team Liaison to help bolster our competitive teams. This position helps our competitive teams carve out space and time to compete and practice in our facilities, as well as helps to promote their digital presence with match streaming and shoutcasting. This position will require knowledge of the UAA Esports Lounge space and operations on top of their knowledge of our competitive teams. Must be able to work efficiently in an autonomous manner, and be flexible with their hours as our competitive teams generally play in the evenings. This position earns $12.03/hour and may work up to 20 hours per week.

The Esports Team Liaison will predominantly work with our competitive teams to make sure they have adequate time and resources to practice and play in our Lounge, as well as maintain our relationships with other Esports teams and our participating leagues. The Team Liaison will also assist with our Lounge gear rentals and software/hardware updates to the Lounge PCs.

To thrive in this role, the Team Liaison should be able to work towards the Esports mission of pushing our competitive teams to the next level and to assist our Lounge patrons without much oversight. Prior knowledge of Esports, streaming, and competitive games will help in this role.

Knowledge/Skills?Abilities:
● General knowledge of Esports and/or competitive games, particularly League of Legends,
Overwatch, Valorant, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, and Super Smash Bros.
● Knowledge of configuring and using streaming software.
● Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
● Possess good organizational and time management skills
● Possess exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
● Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
● Ability to be productive with minimal supervision
● Ability to work 15-20 hours/week

Preferred Experience:
● Familiarity with Esports or sports participation, team coordination, and/or working within
an intramural sports league
● Ability to learn different software programs
● Ability to form and maintain meaningful and working relationships

Minimum Qualifications:

To be eligible for student employment, an applicant must have the following requisites: 1) They must be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; 2) Have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA); 3) Student enrolled in non-traditional programs of study will be considered eligible for student employment with the approval of the Senior Student Services officer. An applicant must provide evidence of enrollment as outlined above to substantiate employment eligibility

Position Details:

This position is open to undergraduate students only.

This is a part-time, up to 20 hours a week, student position paying $12.03/hour.
