Job Description

We are seeking a Production Manage with hands-on experience in structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication. The ideal candidate will have a strong background as a fitter/welder, combined with proven leadership ability to manage teams of 50+ personnel in a fast-paced fabrication shop environment.

This role requires an expert who understands the flow of steel through the shop and can take charge of scheduling, manpower allocation, and process efficiency while ensuring high standards in quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day production operations in a structural/miscellaneous steel fabrication shop
• Manage and direct a team of 50+ fitters, welders, and support staff
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate shop workflow to meet project timelines and budget requirements
• Monitor and enforce shop safety, quality, and performance standards
• Collaborate with project managers, engineering, and procurement to ensure smooth operations
• Troubleshoot issues related to fabrication, manpower, or production delays
• Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
• Maintain accurate production reporting and track shop progress against schedule

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in structural/miscellaneous steel fabrication
• Prior hands-on experience as a fitter and/or welder
• Demonstrated success in managing large teams (50+ employees) in a shop setting
• Deep understanding of steel fabrication processes, shop flow, and QA/QC practices
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
