Job Description

YOUR ROLE:

The CEVA Ground Fleet Operations Manager oversees all aspects of the day-to-day fleet (linehaul) operation, including the coordination & communication of all fleet trips, compliance of our ICs & Fleet managers to external/internal policies, KPI accountability & performance management, maintenance of CEVA’s safety scores, and the management of team budgets.

The Ground Fleet Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that our Linehaul ICs, managed by our Fleet Managers, remain in compliance with CEVA’s processes and systems, helping to resolve operational issues, and working with other teams, departments, stations, HUBs, and facilities to ensure successful execution & issue resolution within the linehaul network.

The Ground Fleet Operations Manager is accountable for delivering a consistent high level of service, profitability and cost efficiency while being a true, empathetic leader & developer of people.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Ensures in-depth understanding of CEVA's Ground business and its strategic direction for the operation to provide support for the Network and local staff.
  • Carefully monitors operational procedures to ensure they function smoothly and effectively.
  • Manages and supervises the work of their team, establishing clear goals & expectations aligned with business objectives, and keeping track of performance while developing talent within a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work with large data sources using strong mathematical & analytical skills
  • Good communication skills, verbally and in writing, able to present information to groups and answer inquiries in clear concise manner.
  • Keeps abreast of emerging market changes and innovations through formal or informal study, reading business and professional publications, networking, participation in professional organizations. Creates awareness of those within the CEVA group by proper communication with relevant parties.
  • Responsible for accident/risk management and communication to all pertinent parties.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of Transportation/Logistics Operational Experience, at a supervisor level required.
  • 5+ years Transportation/Logistics Operational Experience a plus.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Good decision decision-making skills and must know when to escalate if needed.
  • Basic to Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Basic transport, forwarding and logistics skills (FTL, LTL).

Interpersonal & Communication Skills:

  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Leader/Developer/Mentor of People.
  • Good communications skills and can express him/herself professionally via phone/video & present.
  • Analytical and business process driven.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to integrate pricing tactics and drive process improvements.
  • Relationship management.
  • Time Management.
  • Flexible, driven, committed and result oriented.
