Job Description

The General Manager will play a critical role in stabilizing and growing the U.S. operations by overseeing all day-to-day operations at the Pewaukee headquarters, including sales, service, warehouse, and administrative functions. Initially focused on enhancing team performance and cohesion, as well as growing the existing customer base, the GM will also be responsible for preparing the organization for strategic growth through the launch of additional U.S. locations

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a cross-functional team of 9 (Sales, Service, Inside Sales, Admin) in alignment with operational excellence and customer focus.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement/lean management.
  • Oversee financial performance, reporting, and P&L management (with external support from finance partner Sikich).
  • Directly manage and develop the U.S. sales team to increase market share and reach new customer segments beyond Wisconsin.
  • Expand presence in target industries through consultative, technical sales and superior service delivery.
  • Lead and support key customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Lay the groundwork for launching additional U.S. branch locations over time.
  • Support location selection, recruiting Branch Managers, and building local sales/service teams.
  • Evaluate potential acquisition opportunities in collaboration with HQ.
  • Foster a positive, performance-driven environment rooted in transparency, collaboration, and professional development.
  • Serve as the cultural bridge between U.S. operations and German headquarters.

Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma required; degree is a plus but not mandatory.
  • 10+ years of relevant leadership experience in B2B technical sales.
  • Technical background and machining experience required. Experience with rigging/lifting solutions is helpful.
  • Strong operational and sales leadership background; P&L ownership preferred.
  • Comfortable in small to mid-size, entrepreneurial environments with lean teams.
  • M&A exposure a plus (not required).
  • Hands-on, pragmatic leader who thrives in dynamic, high-impact environments.
  • Sales- and growth-driven with excellent people and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen, with a solid understanding of finance and reporting.
  • Collaborative and transparent leadership style.
  • Willingness to travel as much as needed.
