Junior IT Developer – Entry-Level | Technology & Energy | The Woodlands, TX (Onsite/Hybrid)
A fast-growing company in the retail energy sector is seeking a Junior IT Developer to join its technology team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career developer to gain hands-on experience working on internal systems and customer-facing platforms in a collaborative, tech-forward environment. You'll contribute to the delivery of efficient, scalable tools that support both internal operations and end-user experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and maintenance of internal software tools and external customer portals .
- Write clean, maintainable code with guidance from senior developers.
- Assist in integrating third-party APIs and automating data exchanges between systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by internal users.
- Participate in team meetings, peer code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand user needs and deliver practical tech solutions.
- Maintain documentation for new features, updates, and technical processes.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline—or equivalent experience.
- 0–2 years of experience in software development, IT support, or application development.
- Basic proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or C#).
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases .
- Understanding of web development fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Eagerness to learn new tools, technologies, and best practices.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to utility or energy sector data formats (e.g., EDI).
- Experience using version control systems such as Git.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
