Enjoy working outside? A Student Worker\Seasonal Worker in Surveys would work on a variety of sites to prepare for future construction projects and to assist in staking current construction projects. They would learn how a construction project is designed and the mapping efforts needed to produce a final plan. They would also see how a project is built and the role of a Survey crew on a site. Field Surveying also includes all efforts to define property boundaries. This task includes in-office researching and interpreting existing surveys followed by field measuring of physical evidence to assist Licensed Surveyors in boundary determinations.
This process would include working with existing surveys, construction plans, survey notes, coordinate systems, horizontal and vertical control points, bridge working points and more. They would be exposed to Survey grade GPS units, precision total stations and high-definition laser scanning. This would involve physical activity, pounding stakes, digging holes, and carrying survey tools. Typically, they would work with a single lead technical worker. Typical Hours (Monday-Thursday) 6:00AM - 4:30PM.
