Job Description

The Licensed Child Care Administrator is responsible for managing the daily operations of a residential treatment center facility, ensuring compliance with Texas state regulations, and promoting a high standard of care and education for children. This role requires effective leadership, strong communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive environment for both children and staff. Candidate MUST HAVE A CHILD CARE ADMINISTRATOR LICENSE WITH THE STATE OF TEXAS. At our 24-hour residential treatment center serves girls ages 12-17, we are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for children and adolescents facing emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges. Our comprehensive services are designed to address the unique needs of each child, promoting healing, growth, and development.

1. Individualized Treatment Plans- Each child receives a thorough assessment upon admission, leading to a personalized treatment plan developed by a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and therapists.

2. Therapeutic Services-Individual Therapy: One-on-one sessions with licensed therapists to address personal challenges and promote emotional well-being.

- Group Therapy: Structured group sessions that foster peer interaction, support, and shared experiences to build social skills and resilience.

- Family Therapy: Engaging families in the therapeutic process to improve communication, understanding, and relationships.

3. Psychiatric Services- Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management provided by board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists, ensuring appropriate treatment for mental health conditions.

4. Educational Support- On-site educational programs tailored to meet the academic needs of each child, including individualized instruction and support to help them catch up and thrive academically.

5. Life Skills Development- Programs designed to teach essential life skills, including problem-solving, conflict resolution, communication, and daily living skills to promote independence and self-sufficiency.

6.Recreational Activities- A variety of recreational and therapeutic activities, including art therapy, music therapy, physical fitness, and outdoor excursions, to enhance emotional expression and promote teamwork.

7. Crisis Intervention- 24/7 support and crisis intervention services to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents, with trained staff available to handle emergencies and provide immediate assistance.

8. Aftercare Planning- Transition planning and aftercare services to support successful reintegration into the community, including referrals to outpatient services, support groups, and ongoing therapy.

9. Parent and Caregiver Support- Workshops, support groups, and resources for parents and caregivers to enhance their understanding of their child's needs and improve family dynamics.

10. Holistic Approaches- Integration of holistic therapies such as mindfulness, yoga, and nutrition education to promote overall well-being and mental health.

Key Responsibilities:

1. **Regulatory Compliance:** - Ensure that the facility meets all state licensing requirements and regulations set forth by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of child care laws, regulations, and best practices.

2. **Program Development:** - Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of children. - Continuously assess and improve program quality based on feedback and evaluations.

3. **Staff Management:** - Train, and supervise child care staff, including teachers and support staff. - Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing professional development opportunities.

4. **Parent and Community Relations:** - Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, guardians, and the community. - Communicate regularly with families regarding their children’s progress and any concerns.

5. **Safety and Health Standards:** - Ensure that the facility complies with health and safety standards, including sanitation, emergency preparedness, and child supervision protocols. - Conduct regular safety drills and maintain emergency plans.

6. **Record Keeping:** - Maintain accurate records related to enrollment, attendance, staff credentials, health and safety inspections, and licensing requirements.

7. **Advocacy:** - Advocate for the needs of children and families within the community and promote awareness of early childhood education.

Qualifications: -

**Education:** - Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred). - Certification in Child Care Administration or a related credential may be required. -

**Experience:** - Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in child care or early childhood education, with at least 1-2 years in a management or administrative role.

- **Licensure:** - Must hold a valid Texas Child Care Administrator License.

Skills: - Strong leadership and organizational skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and the community. - Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in residential treatment centers.

Working Conditions: - The position may require working evenings or weekends, depending on the needs of the facility.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
