Cornerstone Staffing is hiring for the following position:
Job Title: Medical Assistant
Schedule: 8am-12:30pm M-F
Pay: $20/hr or $22/hr if Spanish Bilingual
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet and sign in patients upon arrival.
- Register new patients and assist in building the patient population.
- Collect and verify patient information, including name, date of birth, email, and insurance details.
- Learn and effectively use the electronic health record system (TEBRA) for patient documentation.
- Check and upload insurance information for all patients during registration and intake.
- Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for their visit.
- Accurately measure and record patients’ vital signs, including temperature, oxygen saturation, blood pressure, weight, and height.
- Maintain awareness of patient room assignments and ensure a seamless flow of appointments.
- Assist in checking patients out after their visit, ensuring they understand next steps such as referrals, prescriptions, or follow-up appointments.
- Verify pharmacy information and remind patients to pick up any prescribed medications.
Qualifications:
- Fluent in both Spanish and English, with excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience as a medical assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in or willingness to learn electronic health record systems (e.g., TEBRA).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
