Established in 2006, Squirrel Hill Health Center provides high-quality, affordable healthcare, including dental and behavioral care, to all individuals regardless of income or insurance status. We are seeking a Billing & Coding Specialist to join our finance department. The ideal candidate will have integrity, be knowledgeable in insurance rules and regulations, and be able to work remotely in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate coding and data entry of patient billing information.
- Assist with A/R follow-up and resolution of denials.
- Provide support to staff and patients on billing issues.
- Participate in the development of procedures and update forms/manuals related to the revenue cycle.
- Run and analyze reports to ensure billing accuracy.
- Collaborate on projects to improve billing processes.
- Stay updated on Medicare/Medicaid/Commercial Insurers, ICD-10/CPT, and HIPAA.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of medical billing/coding/AR experience in a physician-based office.
- Experience in Primary Care, Dental, Behavioral Health, or FQHC is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Nextgen experience strongly preferred.
- CPC or equivalent a plus.
- All CDC recommended immunizations, including updated COVID-19 vaccines required
