We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficiency-driven Production Pharmacist to join our pharmaceutical operations team. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely preparation and verification of medications in a high-volume, production-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in long-term care, hospital, or compounding pharmacy settings and thrive in a process-driven, team-based workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation, compounding, and packaging of medications in accordance with physician orders and regulatory standards.
- Verify medication accuracy and ensure labeling compliance for bulk and patient-specific prescriptions.
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with all USP, DEA, FDA, and state pharmacy regulations and internal quality control procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation for production logs, batch records, and controlled substance handling.
- Collaborate with the operations and quality assurance teams to streamline processes and implement best practices.
- Participate in audits, process validations, and inventory management of pharmaceutical materials.
- Monitor and report any production discrepancies or quality concerns immediately.
Essential Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Valid pharmacist license in the state of employment.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a production, long-term care, hospital, or compounding pharmacy setting.
- Strong understanding of sterile and non-sterile compounding standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Proficiency in pharmacy automation systems and production tracking software.
