Project Engineer – Commercial Construction

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Salary: $75,000–$95,000 + Annual Bonus & Strong Benefits

Schedule: Hybrid (4 days in-office, 1 day remote)

Our client, a well-established commercial general contractor in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a Project Engineer with 2–4 years of experience in the construction industry. About the Role:

As a Project Engineer, you'll support multiple aspects of project execution, working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and clients to ensure jobs run smoothly—from preconstruction through closeout. This role offers hands-on exposure to a wide range of commercial projects and sets a clear path toward Project Manager-level responsibilities.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist with project planning, scheduling, and coordination
• Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to maintain timelines and budgets
• Manage and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
• Support jobsite progress tracking and field coordination
• Help ensure quality control and safety compliance on assigned projects
• Participate in client meetings and help build long-term relationships

What We’re Looking For:

• 2–4 years of experience in commercial construction
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency in project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, etc.)
• A self-starter with a desire to grow into a Project Manager role
