Quantitative Researcher

Location: Chicago, IL. 

Office : 5days/week in South Loop office

Reports to: Director of Client Services

Salary: $150k+ and equity

Role Overview

We’re looking for candidates passionate about measurement, machine learning, causal inference, and applying novel techniques that are unlocked by new technology such as generative AI. You’ll spend your days on some combination of the following tasks:

• Analyzing survey data
• Writing about surveys or randomized trials
• Organizing data to help with measurement and prediction
• Building models
• Researching techniques to improve our work
• Reviewing your colleague’s analyses

We believe that it’s crucial to be transparent about uncertainty both among ourselves and with our customers. In other words, you should have both a zeal for data and skepticism about inference based on only what can be observed and measured. 

Qualifications

• Expertise in scientific Python
• Experience working with survey data
• Experience with causal inference
• Previous work experience
• Our company is small right now and we have preference for folks who don’t require on-the-job training.
• To be explicit, you don’t need a degree to work here. You just need to be good at the things we’re asking from you.
