Job Title: Research Assistant III

Location: 9900 Medical Center Drive, Rockville, MD 20850

Contract Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension or full-time conversion)

Compensation: $ 20.31 – $ 33.86/hour (W2)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Research Assistant III to support innovation projects related to cell culture media and growth supplements. The ideal candidate will design and execute experiments, analyze data, and contribute to the development and optimization of products involving human primary cells and cell lines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and perform experiments to develop or optimize cell culture media and growth supplements.
• Work with various human primary cells and cell lines—prior experience required.
• Maintain detailed and organized experimental records; analyze and report findings.
• Apply strict aseptic techniques and demonstrate proficiency in cell handling.
• Conduct analytical and cell culture-based functionality testing, including cell growth assays.
• Troubleshoot issues related to cell/media performance, raw materials, formulation, storage, and QC assays.
• Manage laboratory inventory, including chemicals, reagents, and supplies.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in biology, Chemistry, or a related field; OR
• Bachelor’s degree with 5–10 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic cell culture, biology, chemistry, data analysis, technical writing, and lab equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other basic computer applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.

Safety Compliance:

Must follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations relevant to laboratory and chemical handling.

Working Conditions:

• Work is conducted in a shared lab environment and office space.
• Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals.
• May require occasional extended hours, including weekends.
