Job Description

The Safety Technician is an experienced, innovative, and hands-on individual, passionate about safety and able to drive strategy to build an engaging, safe, environment. Will identify, coordinate and drive improvements in safety while engaging all employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Advises employees on company procedures and legal requirements within the level of a Technician knowledge
• Monitors the work environment for compliance to company safety procedures
• Assists with the investigation of incidents to establish root cause and develops required action plans with relevant processes
• Updates internal records in regard to incidents, near misses, and accidents
• Collates and produces safety reports as required
• Attends safety meetings
• Undertakes projects and information gathering to establish hazards and levels of risk within the facility
• Actively involved in undertaking action plans to ensure continuing compliance with state and federal regulations
• Maintains confidentiality in matters involving safety investigations
• Monitors safety procedures to ensure compliance
• Facilitates safety training sessions for employees
• Assists with risk assessments as required and follow-up control measures to completion

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid drivers license
• 3-5 years of safety related experience
• Experience running metric reports, analyzing data to identify trends and mitigation plans
• Knowledge of applicable state and federal OSHA regulations
• Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in safety processes in a manufacturing environment
• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety or Occupational Safety and Health
• ASP or GSP and/or on track for CSP certification
• Ability to learn quickly, while closely adhering to new processes and procedures
• Ability to have good communication with employees with varying backgrounds
• Meticulous level of sustained attention-to-detail
• Ability to work independently, at times under minimum levels of supervision, demonstrating your ability to organize and prioritize your time effectively to meet targets and deadlines

Compensation - The starting base annual salary for this role is between $100k - $140k at the time of posting. The actual pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of K2 Pure Solution’s competitive total compensation package that can includes strong benefits, perks, and bonuses. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
