Job Description

Sales Executive in Freight Forwarding is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities by actively prospecting potential clients, understanding their shipping needs, and presenting customized freight forwarding solutions (air, ocean, or land) to secure contracts, while maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring smooth execution of shipments through collaboration with the operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively search for new clients through market research, networking, cold calling, and attending industry events to identify potential business opportunities.
  • Conduct thorough consultations with prospective clients to understand their shipping requirements, including origin/destination, cargo type, volume, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Develop customized freight forwarding proposals, including pricing calculations, transit times, and service options based on client needs, considering different modes of transport (air, ocean, land).
  • Deliver compelling presentations to potential clients outlining the value proposition of the company's freight forwarding services and addressing their specific needs.
  • Negotiate pricing and contract terms with prospective clients to secure new business and achieve sales targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, proactively addressing their concerns, and ensuring their satisfaction to foster repeat business.
  • Provide timely response to client inquiries, resolve issues related to shipments, and coordinate with the operations team to ensure smooth execution.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of success in a sales environment, with strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Logistics Knowledge:
  • Understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and various modes of transportation (air, ocean, land).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and effectively manage customer relationships.
  • Ability to analyze client needs, assess market conditions, and develop tailored solutions.
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software to manage sales pipeline and track customer interactions.
