Job Description

NOVA Engineering is seeking South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) Certified Special Inspector for our Greenville, SC office. We are looking for a self-motivated individuals with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Positions offer the opportunity for growth and advancement for the successful candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Perform field services for soils, pavement sections, reinforced concrete, masonry, wood framing, structural steel framing and other special inspections, as applicable.
• Coordinate with contractors, and NOVA staff regarding execution of required services and result of testing and/or inspections, as applicable.
• Prepare detailed and complete daily field reports

Qualifications:

• Certifications in 1 or more: SCDOT Earthworks, SCDOT Roadway Tech, SCDOT Concrete Field, SCDOT Aggregate, and SCDOT Asphalt
• ACI Field Certification
• Nuclear Density gauge certification
• Ability to read construction plans, details and specifications
• Ability to apply basic mathematical formulas and concepts for performing calculations
• Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 70 pounds on a regular basis.
