Senior C++ Engineer – Trading Infrastructure

Location: Midtown NYC (Hybrid, 3 days on-site)

Compensation: $200K–$265K base + bonus (Total comp up to $320K–$350K)

A leading global financial firm is looking for a Senior C++ Engineer to join a mission-critical team responsible for building out a next-generation trading platform focused on equities and futures. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who thrives in a high-performance environment and enjoys driving complex systems from design to deployment.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and develop scalable, fault-tolerant trading infrastructure in modern C++ (17/20).
• Own projects end-to-end, from system architecture to hands-on coding and production support.
• Work on trade flow systems that prioritize accuracy and uptime over speed—ideal for those with experience in execution platforms, not HFT.
• Build and maintain robust messaging frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Solace, Tervela or similar).
• Utilize your expertise in low-level networking and multithreading to drive system performance.
• Lead and mentor a small team of engineers, helping shape the technical direction and upskill talent.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including quant and trading groups.
• Contribute to product expansion efforts in new global markets.

What They're Looking For:

• 7+ years of hands-on C++ development experience in production environments.
• Background in building real-time or high-reliability systems—experience in trading or financial platforms is a strong plus.
• Proficiency with messaging middleware and network-level programming.
• Strong architectural instincts and a track record of delivering production systems.
• Leadership qualities—either through mentorship, tech direction, or team management.
