Title: Senior Data Engineer

Location: US-based - Remote - Company based in Austin, TX

150K-180K-Total Compensation

Overview of Role:

As Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the design, development, implementation, and enhancement of our platforms. We are looking for someone who has good tenure, experience with sensitive data, and EXTENSIVE SQL experience.

Role Description:

• Design and Develop Data Solutions: Architect, design, and develop high-quality software solutions to assist the data engineering team.
• Code Review and Mentorship: Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior engineers to ensure code quality and professional growth within the team.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Build ETL Pipelines: using tools like Airflow for orchestration, this role would include extensive pipelining and is more than just a "data mover".

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelors or higher preferably in a technical field, with a minimum of 7 years of professional experience outside of a collegiate setting.
• MUST HAVE 7+ years working in and around SQL, with at least 3+ years in a data engineer role.
• Experience with Python and various packages.
• Previous experience with SQL databases like PostGreSQL or Vertica .
• Big data experience with tools like Kafka or Hadoop.
• Deployment experience with Linux .
• Healthcare experience and working with regulated data is a major plus!
• Experience managing sprint planning and mentoring junior engineers.
