Senior Estimator – Federal & Commercial Construction

Your New Role

As a Senior Estimator, you will lead the development of detailed and compliant cost estimates for both commercial and federal construction projects. You’ll analyze blueprints, technical specifications, and RFPs—including Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build, and IDIQ contracts—and collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate budgeting and competitive proposals. You’ll also coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring adherence to FAR/DFARS, Davis-Bacon, and other federal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and Basis of Estimate (BOE) narratives for federal and commercial projects
• Lead quantity takeoffs, labor forecasts, and pricing for materials, labor, and equipment
• Ensure compliance with federal procurement guidelines, including Buy American Act and wage determinations
• Develop scopes of work and manage subcontractor RFPs and quote leveling
• Support proposal development, bid reviews, and value engineering strategies

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• 5+ years of estimating experience, with at least 2 years focused on federal construction projects
• Proven track record with large-scale commercial or government projects ($25M+)
• Familiarity with FAR/DFARS, Davis-Bacon Act, and federal wage determinations
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, RSMeans)
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
