Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret architectural and structural drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Prepare detailed material take-offs for structural, miscellaneous, and ornamental steel.
• Develop accurate cost estimates, including materials, labor, fabrication, erection, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Prepare bid proposals and support the sales team in presenting estimates to clients.
• Work closely with project managers and engineers to ensure scope and pricing accuracy.
• Track and analyze costs to improve estimating accuracy on future projects.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market pricing, industry standards, and construction methods.
• Assist in value engineering by recommending cost-effective alternatives.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Steel Estimator or Construction Estimator (structural/miscellaneous steel preferred).
• Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection, and construction practices.
• Proficiency with estimating software, MS Excel, and CAD or BIM tools.
• Excellent analytical and math skills with high attention to detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
