Job Description: Tax Preparer with Lacerte Experience

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with Lacerte Tax Software and a proven track record of preparing accurate and timely tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and file accurate federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.
  
• Utilize Lacerte Tax Software efficiently to complete tax filings and ensure compliance with all regulations.
  
• Review financial records, income statements, and documentation provided by clients to calculate taxes owed or refunds due.
  
• Identify potential tax credits, deductions, and savings opportunities for clients.
  
• Communicate effectively with clients to clarify tax-related issues, obtain missing information, and explain tax return details.
  
• Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws, regulations, and best practices.
  
• Assist clients with tax planning and provide guidance on strategies to minimize liabilities.
  
• Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of all client information.
  
• Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines during peak tax seasons.
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation, with proficiency in Lacerte Tax Software .
  
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and team members.
  
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  
• CPA or EA designation preferred but not required.
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and other relevant accounting tools.
  

Work Environment

Compensation

• Pay rate: 38/hr
