Job Description
As a TIG Welder, you'll work closely with the shop supervisor and senior management to ensure all manufacturing equipment is fabricated and welded to exact specifications. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Precision Welding: Perform high-quality TIG, MIG, and STICK welding on various components, including sanitary welds.
- Fabrication Expertise: Specialize in trailer and tractor fabrication , along with general welding fabrication.
- Equipment Operation: Operate specialized equipment such as Bridge port, Lathe, Drill press, and CNC welding machines.
- Diverse Positions: Weld components effectively in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Quality Assurance: Competently inspect weld joints and welding processes to ensure they meet all outlined requirements.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and accurately interpret blueprints, diagrams, and other technical specifications.
- Safety First: Consistently operate safety equipment and adhere to all safe work habits and protocols.
- Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with other team members to achieve company production goals.
What You Bring
- Extensive Welding Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and strong ability in TIG/MIG welding and fabrication , including common welding processes and the use of jigs, fixtures, and other template equipment.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with TIG, MIG, and STICK welding processes , particularly in sanitary welds and trailer/tractor fabrication .
- Machine Operation: Experience with Bridge port, Lathe, Drill press, and CNC welding.
- Physical Dexterity: Excellent physical dexterity for welding and fabrication processes.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously inspect weld joints and processes.
- Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced work environment around industrial machinery.
- Physical Stamina:
- Ability to stand in one place for 80% of the shift (8+ hours per day) and walk throughout the department for 20% of the shift.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis with reasonable accommodation.
- Requires frequent use of both hands and arms.
- Capability to bend, twist, and squat as needed throughout the 8+ hour shift.
- Work Environment Comfort: Ability to work in a cold storage environment (production rooms are kept at a constant 32 degrees Fahrenheit and below in certain areas) and withstand cold temperatures for extended periods. Comfortable with varying noise levels, which can be loud at times.
- Safety Mindset: Must be able to work in a Safety Sensitive Position .
