POSITION OVERVIEW

ProGeorgia seeks a detail-oriented and strategic leader to join the team as its Account Manager, responsible for managing and overseeing the organization’s overall financial operations. This role will serve as the sole financial leader, handling everything from day-to-day accounting to high-level financial strategy. The ideal candidate will work closely with ProGeorgia’s CEO to ensure accurate financial tracking, reporting, and donor and grant requirements compliance. The Account Manager will oversee financial accounts, manage donor and grant reporting, and ensure alignment with ProGeorgia’s strategic goals. This role will be key in maintaining financial transparency, supporting donor confidence, and contributing to the organization's overall financial health.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Account Manager reports to the CEO and is responsible for the following:

  • Oversee all financial accounts, including accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and grant-related accounts, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and reconciliation.
  • Process and track invoices, expenses, and reimbursements, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping through Concur.
  • Develop and manage cash flow budgets, forecasts, and projections to ensure financial stability and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the allocation of funds across departments and projects, ensuring compliance with donor stipulations and organizational priorities.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate financial reports to donors and grant agencies, ensuring compliance with all stipulations and requirements.
  • Manage payroll processing, including employee pay cycles, reimbursements, and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance with timelines.
  • Manage and optimize financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks for Nonprofits, Salesforce) to ensure accurate and efficient financial tracking, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Create high-level financial presentations for the Board of Directors, summarizing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance, cash flow, and budget updates.
  • Analyze, record, and report financial data for all aspects of ProGeorgia’s financial operations, including A/P, A/R, payroll, and grant-related accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with donor, grant, and regulatory requirements, including timely financial documentation and report submission.
  • Monitor and respond to communications related to financial accounts, including requests from the CEO and all the departments for financial reports, data, and information.
  • Regularly review financial records, statements, and reports to ensure accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial tracking, reporting, and compliance.
  • Monitor and resolve credit card disputes, ensuring accurate reconciliation and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Track and manage funds during election year cycles and tax seasons, ensuring timely reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and file 990 reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to IRS guidelines.
  • Manage restricted and unrestricted funds, ensuring proper allocation and compliance with donor stipulations.
  • Oversee single-year and multi-year grants, including tracking, reporting, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
  • Manage all banking activities, including reconciliations, 1099 filings, and account monitoring, to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills:

  • Ability to prepare, analyze, and present financial statements and reports to the CEO, Board Members, and Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
  • Strong proficiency in developing fiscal year budgets, managing cash flow, and creating financial documentation for grant applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of audit processes, compliance regulations, and managing annual audits.
  • Expertise in managing financial accounts, including A/P, A/R, electronic banking, reconciliations, and grant-related accounts.
  • Strong skills in preparing and submitting financial reports to donors and grant agencies.
  • Experience in cash flow budgeting, forecasting, and fund allocations.
  • Proficiency in payroll administration, including employee pay cycles, benefits, and reimbursements.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements for donors, grants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Proficiency in financial systems such as QuickBooks for Nonprofits and Salesforce.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Strong financial and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to create high-level financial presentations for board meetings.
  • Ability to be a self-starter with excellent prioritization, detail-oriented, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Google Suites, Asana, and MacBook.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business is required.
  • A Master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business is preferred.
  • CPA or CFA certification is preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in financial account management, grant reporting, payroll administration, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading a finance team.
  • A track record of strategic financial planning and oversight, ideally in a nonprofit or social impact organization.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.

LOCATION

The position is remote and must be located in Atlanta, GA, or surrounding areas

REPORT TO: Chief Executive Officer

COMPENSATION: Competitive salary up to $125,000 based on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
