Position Summary:

We are seeking a dependable, professional, and tech-savvy Front Desk Receptionist to join our care team in Hummelstown, PA. Working in a psychiatric hospital setting, this role is key to creating a welcoming and organized front office environment for adult and geriatric patients. You will be the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors—providing essential administrative support to clinical and nursing staff while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

📅 Schedule: Monday - Friday ( Monday – Wednesday: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Friday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check in patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism
  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct them appropriately
  • Respond to emails and patient inquiries promptly
  • Verify insurance information and assist with intake paperwork
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Manage appointment scheduling and calendar coordination
  • Handle incoming/outgoing mail and faxes
  • Utilize office technologies, including EMR systems, email platforms, and scheduling software
  • Keep the front office organized and support day-to-day administrative tasks

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year of front desk or medical office experience preferred
  • Strong phone etiquette and customer service skills
  • Comfortable with technology, including Microsoft Office, email, and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards
  • Friendly, calm, and professional under pressure
