Job Description

The ideal candidate have at least 8 years of manufacturing quality engineering experience, including 5 years in the aerospace industry. They will hold or be able to obtain Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification within one year and have a strong background in Lean methodologies. The candidate must be proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, root cause analysis, process mapping, and possess exceptional organizational, decision-making, and communication skills. They should also have experience managing supplier relationships, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within quality systems.

Summary:

The Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and controlling quality attributes across assigned aerospace programs, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and industry standards.

Essential Duties:

  1. Ensure raw materials, components, and finished products meet contractual quality requirements and specifications.
  2. Manage supplier interactions, ensuring compliance with company and customer quality standards for new product development programs.
  3. Develop and communicate quality performance expectations to suppliers, focusing on continuous improvement, process control, and quality systems.
  4. Mentor and train supplier representatives on best practices in quality systems, process control methods, and problem-solving techniques.
  5. Develop and execute supplier audit schedules, conduct audits, and follow up on corrective actions as needed.
  6. Maintain and assess supplier program performance, including ratings, metrics, and development, and report results to management.
  7. Establish quality control criteria, methods, and procedures, including inspection points and testing requirements.
  8. Monitor in-process control points to ensure timely quality assurance feedback and manage quality risks effectively.
  9. Conduct assessments of customer returns, assign responsibility, and approve necessary work instructions.
  10. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve quality issues, implement corrective actions, and ensure the prevention of non-conformances.
