What You'll Do:
Provide Expert Legal Counsel: Offer comprehensive assistance to pilot governing bodies and individual members on all employment-related issues.
Navigate Complex Labor Relations: Handle a diverse range of complex assignments using your deep understanding of applicable laws and association policies.
Lead Contract Negotiations: Provide expert staff assistance in all phases of negotiating agreements, coordinating activities, and ensuring effective communication.
Administer and Monitor Contracts: Oversee the implementation and administration of collective bargaining agreements, ensuring compliance and addressing any issues.
Represent Pilots in FAA Actions: Manage and represent pilots in actions brought by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Analyze NTSB Hearings: Prepare detailed summaries of National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) Accident/Incident hearings.
Manage Case Files: Oversee and manage all case management functions, ensuring accurate and efficient record-keeping.
Contribute to National Projects: Participate in national projects within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
Respond to Time-Sensitive Issues: Provide timely and effective recommendations on strategy and actions in response to critical issues.
Travel for Advocacy: Travel to various locations to represent pilots, attend negotiations, and provide on-site support.

What We're Looking For:
Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Law (LLM), or similar advanced degree from an approved law school.
Member in good standing of the Bar.
Fifteen (15) years of related experience in labor law and litigation (twenty or more years strongly preferred).
Aviation and/or labor law experience (preferred).
Significant and in-depth labor negotiation experience (may substitute for some requirements at management discretion).
Experience in collective bargaining and grievance arbitration (preferred).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and organize tactics.
Knowledge of the Railway Labor Act (RLA) and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) (preferred).
Experience using online legal research tools (Westlaw or equivalent) (preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft office products.
