Under The General Supervision Of Statistical Supervisor, Gathers Raw Data From Reports, Computer Print Outs & Claims & Prepare Reports, Tables & Charts Presenting Statistical Information
- Assembles raw data collected from fatal crash reports, driver & vehicle histories, death certificates & supplemental documentation;
- Sorts &/or codes data into designated categories, organizes data into meaningful form & prepares reports for processing (i.e., makes routine interpretation of fatal crash data classifications, sorts & codes statistical data into designated categories);
- Prepares reports, tables & charts presenting statistical information;
- Prepares elementary computer programs to extract data from system;
- Prepares statistical table & charts with spread sheet software;
- Makes oral & written reports of data & provides information to government officials & general public in response to inquiries received by phone, mail or in person;
- Researches & analyzes programs, procedures & systems to determine efficiency, accuracy & necessary corrections;
- Conducts statistical analysis of fatal crash data, performs & or assists with research to determine solutions to problems relating to fatal crash reports &/or reporting;
- Attends & participates in meeting & conferences (i.e., makes presentations of Ohio's data &/or investigates procedures to special interest groups & organizations);
- Analyzes & computes basic statistics;
- Operates keyboard on data entry equipment & personal computer to encode fatal crash data, check for accuracy, completeness, & sufficiency of data & makes corrections for unreliable & missing data as needed;
- Corrects & validates data by writing correspondences & making telephone calls;
- Produces routine typed copy to local police agencies, fire departments, coroners, etc. to request additional information or clarification of fatal crash data;
- Performs clerical duties related to fatal crash statistics/reports (i. e., creates new files & searches existing files, operate photocopy, CD Reader, DVD Reader/Writer, maintains ledgers by logging information);
- Performs other related duties as required.
Completion of undergraduate core program in statistics.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
