Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Law Clerk Intern to join our team. This in-office internship offers law students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in immigration law by assisting attorneys with case preparation, legal research, and client interactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on various immigration law topics.
  • Assist in preparing immigration applications and supporting documents under attorney supervision.
  • Compile country condition reports and other evidence for asylum and humanitarian cases.
  • Participate in client interviews and draft declarations.
  • Attend and observe immigration court proceedings and USCIS interviews, when applicable.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as organizing case files and managing documentation.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school (2L or 3L preferred).
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
  • Commitment to serving immigrant communities and a passion for immigration law.
  • Fluency in a second language, particularly Spanish, is highly desirable.
Internship Details
  • Compensation: This is an unpaid internship designed to provide educational experience.
  • Academic Credit: We will work with your institution to facilitate academic credit, if available.
  • Schedule: Minimum commitment of 15 hours per week, with flexibility around academic schedules.
  • Supervision: Interns will receive direct supervision and mentorship from experienced immigration attorneys.
