Paralegal – Civil Litigation (Insurance Defense)

$95,000–$115,000 | Remote, Hybrid, or On-site | Pacific Time Zone

We’ve partnered with a leading defense litigation firm that is expanding its team and looking for a highly skilled Paralegal with strong experience in Civil Litigation, particularly in Personal Injury and Construction Defect cases. Whether you prefer to work remotely, in-office, or in a hybrid setup, you'll be fully integrated into a collaborative litigation team and supported by dedicated legal administrative staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation including:
• Propounding and responding to discovery
• Preparing for depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences
• Issuing subpoenas and handling document productions
• Review and organize medical records and billings, and calculate damages such as medical expenses, lost wages, and property damage
• Coordinate trial preparation including managing witnesses, compiling exhibits, trial notebooks, and hearing binders
• Maintain familiarity with California Superior Courts and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
• Conduct legal research and manage complex case files related to Personal Injury and Construction Defect

Qualifications:

• Paralegal Expertise:5+ years of experience supporting attorneys in insurance defense, specifically in Personal Injury and Construction Defect
• Experience with premises liability, construction injury, wrongful death, auto accidents, and/or habitability cases is preferred
• Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of California and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
• Skilled in managing discovery, trial prep, and damage calculations
• Education & Certification: Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program is required
• Other Requirements: Must reside in the Pacific Time Zone or be available to work 8 AM – 5 PM PT
